As part of a delivery team including MPA and Geyer, we were commissioning by The University of Sydney to deliver their new collaborative learning space in the existing Badham Library building.

The project included all new lighting, with custom LED light fixtures, smart technology connectivity throughout, a new comms room, upgraded mechanical systems and revised hydraulic and fire protection systems.

Significant consultation was required to be enable the incorporation of the University’s design standards into an existing, unique building, however open lines of communication resulted in a pleasing outcome for all parties.

The existing building structure provided a challenging but interesting canvas to apply functional and budget savvy building services design. The final outcome was an open and airy space, flexible enough to encourage lectures, small group collaborations and individual study sessions.
