The Burcham, Rosebery
Completed: Ongoing
Project Manager: Stable Properties
Architect: AJ+C
Builder: Hamilton Marino Builders
Size: 104 Apartments
As part of a team including Allen Jack+Cottier Architects and Hamilton Marino Builders we were commissioned by the Stable Group to deliver 100 apartments on the old Wrigley’s Gum site in Rosebery. The apartments are split across the existing 1918 Wrigley’s Building and two new buildings constructed on the site.
We were challenged to deliver an innovative and efficient design that would take apartment living to the next level. The design includes the local energy monitoring and expandable smart control within each apartment together with biometric access control to both common areas and apartment access. Photo voltaic panels are provided across the roof tops to offset the energy usage for all common services and to make the building as efficient as possible. Then to allow the residents to maintain their efficient lifestyles electric car charging is provided within the car park.
The internal environments are fully air conditioned utilising central VRF systems to provide high efficiency but the spaces are also designed to utilise cross flow ventilation with the heritage spaces also including in slab hydronic heating and ceiling fansto allow the occupants to minimise their energy use whilst maintaining comfort.
