Emanuel School, which originally opened its doors in Woollahra in 1983, is now located in Randwick on a partially heritage listed campus.
Emanuel School provided students with a new design and technology (D&T) building to meet the advancement of educational demand in hospitality. The building comprises of commercial grade kitchen facilities, museum space and several classrooms.
The new multi-storey structure occupies the footprint of the old library building and seeked to amalgamate the new materials in a sympathetic manner in response to the adjacent historic buildings. This new facility revitalised this area of the campus.
The planning process was complex with the site being listed as an item of environmental heritage within the Randwick Local Environmental Plan. The surrounding site is also listed on the NSW State Heritage Register
